Five sunny days in a row + It will soon be vacation time and I have my ticket for Morocco + I got more self-disciplined and did my first muslin for some large pants (see below) = I am happy and I wish you, dear reader, plenty happiness.

For once I didn't rush headlong into these pants making. The fabric I chose was making eyes at me (saying cut me), the scissors itched my fingers but I resisted. I did September's BWOF #115: the wide pants. I did not really make alterations to the pattern. I just removed the belt loops and kept only one button at the belt instead of the two planned and the two others used to close the pockets in the original model (I am lazy, this won't change). A comment: the pants are a bit too long, even for my 5'7 (rhoo, I'm counting my heels ;o)
In the end, I am very satisfied with the result. I like the cut out in front, the high waist and the box pleat. I wanted a light woollen fabric for it but the one I chose might be too stiff. Do you think a stiffer fabric than the one used in the muslin could fit these pants' cut?

  2. This is your muslin? At first I thought this was the real thing!

I really like the way these wide-leg pants drape. If your wool has a bit of drape, I think it will work. But if the wool is very stiff, I would save it for another project. It's hard to say without feeling myself, though :)
